    ULCT – UST-LUGA CONTAINER TERMINAL

ULCT is the first Russian container terminal built at the deep-water port with unique advantages compared to other terminals in North-West Russia. The terminal is located outside the city limits so that the terminal’s development and operation are not restricted by infrastructure and ecologicial factors.

ULCT is being developed in three phases. The first phase went into operation in 2011. ULCT will reach its ultimate capacity of 3 million TEUs by 2025, making it the largest and most technologically advanced facility in Russia and eastern Europe. The development of Ust-Luga Container Terminal will provide the handling capacity essential for supporting the growth of Russian foreign trade and thus reduce the dependency of Russian consignees on the ports of Finland and the Baltic states.
