The EUROGATE Tanger S.A. container terminal is the southernmost facility in the EUROGATE network. It is conveniently and geostrategically located on the Strait of Gibraltar in Morocco and serves as a bridge between Africa and Europe. The container terminal is located in a free trade zone to the east of the city of Tangier. EUROGATE Tanger is the ideal transhipment hub for the western Mediterranean as well as Africa and South America. With a quay length of 810 m, a terminal area of 400,000 m² and a water depth of up to 18 m, the facility is well-equipped to handle the new generation of container ships.
EUROGATE Tanger is a deep-water container terminal in Tanger, Morocco. Starting its operation in autumn 2008, its core business is container handling. EUROGATE Tanger is situated in a free trade zone 35 km to the east of Tanger, only 14 km away from the Spanish mainland. A feeder network connects the North African port with other destinations in the Mediterranean. Furthermore, the port is linked to the Moroccan hinterland by new highway and railway connections.
EUROGATE Tanger is part of the European container terminal network of the EUROGATE / Contship Italia group, that handled 14.8 million TEU in 2014. The Moroccan hub is the southmost facility of the network. It completes the range of services, which mainly consists in operating container terminals at the main points of the European transport chains.
